About

Carlson & Company Inc. has provided career and employment-related services, training programs, workshop facilitation, needs assessments, and business planning services for both private and public-sector organizations since 1990.  

In 2008, Carlson & Company Inc. opened The Work Place at #105, 9840 – 97th Avenue, Grande Prairie offering employment-related services to both job seekers and employers.  Denise Derenowski-Carlson, Owner/Manager of Carlson & Company Inc. has over twenty-five years’ experience in the career and employment field.

The Work Place provides career and employment-related services/resources, at no charge, on behalf of the Government of Alberta. Computers with internet access, resume templates, copying/printing/faxing employment-related information, phone message service, assistance with resume preparation/updating, and job postings are some of the available resources. Eligible unemployed or underemployed job seekers can make an appointment with an Employment Consultant to receive individualized career and job search services, support, and guidance. Some services provided by the Employment Consultants are assisting with preparing/updating resumes, writing cover letters, completing online applications, interview coaching, acquiring networking skills, and job leads. On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a short, one-time registration form. If you are considering hiring employee(s), The Work Place can provide assistance with your employee recruitment and retention needs at no charge. We offer: Job posting service for full-time, part-time, seasonal or casual employment. Advertise job openings at no charge at The Work Place. We are not a placement agency; we cannot guarantee employees or take money for our services. Complete the Job Posting Form available online at www.gpworkplace.ca.
