Care Human Services was established in 1969 by a group of concerned parents and community members because children with developmental disabilities were not being accepted into the regular school system. They wanted to ensure their children received an education and together formed an organization that would advocate for the education of children with developmental disabilities.

Today Care is a not-for-profit that supports Individuals and Residents with varying disabilities and complex needs in northwestern Alberta.
