Broken Tine Orchard
About
Our Farm is located on the western edge of the County of Grande Prairie; and when we say the edge, we mean, we are on the edge of the last of the farm land before BC. The surrounding views of the mountains to the south and the rolling hills provide a tranquil setting for our farm and haskap orchard. The Alde family has farmed this area since 1926 and the orchard sits on the original homestead land. We farm 2300 acres in the surrounding area and the haskap orchard is around 20,000 plants. We are blessed to have clean air and backdrop of the Boreal forest that fills the soul with every breath.
We started planting the orchard in 2011 and worked on developing an ice cream topping and wine/mead right away. We developed the wine and mead with Mr. Dominic Rivard and we do all our own vinting, bottling and labeling on farm. We carefully pick our berries at pick ripeness to ensure maximum sugar, aroma, and flavour.
We are proud to have worked with so many great companies that want to support local and help each other out.
