Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie & Area is dedicated to igniting the potential of children and youth by fostering strong, positive mentoring relationships. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to realize their full potential—both as individuals and as contributing members of their community.
When we support young people to succeed, we strengthen our entire community. Mentorship has the power to reduce barriers, build confidence, and create pathways toward education, employment, and overall well-being. It leads to stronger families, safer neighbourhoods, and a more hopeful, connected future for all.
For over 20 years, we have been creating life-changing connections through a variety of mentoring programs, including one-to-one matches, group-based experiences, in-school mentoring, and our Big Horizons After school program, which provides children and youth with a safe, supportive space to learn, connect, build confidence, and develop positive relationships after school.
Our mentors serve as trusted role models, helping young people build resilience, develop life skills, and understand the value of giving back.
