From Values to Action: The Behaviours of Values-Based Leadership

Tuesday, February 3, 2026 (1:30 PM - 3:30 PM) (MST)

Description

The Workshop Your Business Series is a series of 6 interactive, results driven sessions held through the year. These sessions are built for today’s business challenges. Each 2-hour workshop features local Chamber Member experts sharing practical tools, insights, and strategies you can put to work right away.

From Values to Action: The Behaviours of Values-Based Leadership is a hands-on workshop for business owners who want their values to show up more clearly in decisions, communication, and expectations. Participants will use their existing business values (or a starter set) and translate one or two values into observable behaviours. You will identify the moments where your values are most likely to be tested and create a Start/Stop/Sustain plan that turns insight into action. This is small but mighty leadership work. You gain a practical plan, plus a clearer way to think about values as something you use, not something you post.

What’s in Store?

Values influence how you make decisions, how you handle pressure, how you communicate expectations, and how your business feels to customers, teams, and partners. In this session, you will identify where values tend to slip, define what “living the value” looks like in action, and build a Start/Stop/Sustain plan that helps you close one values gap right away.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Use business values (or a starter set) as a practical guide for leadership choices
  • Translate one or two values into specific, observable behaviours that others can actually notice
  • Identify common “anti-behaviours” that undermine a value under pressure
  • Create a Start/Stop/Sustain micro-plan that makes values easier to apply immediately

You will leave with:

  • A Values to Behaviours map for one or two values
  • A Start/Stop/Sustain action plan that is simple, realistic, and high-impact
  • Clear language to communicate values through decisions, boundaries, and expectations
  • A repeatable method for spotting and closing values gaps when pressure shows up

Who should attend:

Business owners and leaders in any industry, at any stage, with any team size. This workshop is useful for:

  • Business owners in any industry who want more clarity and consistency
  • Leaders who want values to show up more visibly in how they run their business
  • Owners who want a simple, high-impact leadership practice they can maintain

Recommended pre-work (optional, but helpful)

Bring your current business values (even if rough). If you do not have them, bring a draft list of five. Also consider bringing:

  • One or two proud moments in your business
  • One friction moment where something felt off
  • One current decision you are facing
