Originally GPinoy Marketplace, Pinoy94 Variety Store was taken over and rebranded by Marites Dungo and her husband Armando Dungo in February of 2023.

Marites immigrated to Grande Prairie, Alberta in 1994 with her sister and parents. The Dungo’s hold strong ties with their family in Grande Prairie and back home in the Philippines, and they decided to name the store “Pinoy94” to commemorate such a significant change in their lives.

Mrs. Dungo previously ran a day home business for 12 years, and graduated with her diploma in Financial Accounting and Payroll Systems at the ERP College based in Calgary. She has a strong background in business, and has 15 years of experience in management working for well-respected fast-food chains.

Alongside her dedication for business, Marites’ family and friends admire her for her love and passion of cooking. The Dungo Family believes in strong ties to the community, and they are proud to say they have created and fostered so many connections in the community as a result of taking over the business.

Marites, Armando, and their 4 kids would like to thank everyone in the Grande Prairie community for supporting their family business, with special dedication to Marites’ late parents who remain the family inspiration to be kind and succeed.
