About

Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) has been serving the Grande Prairie and Area community since 1984. A unique alternative to traditional clinical settings, our Therapeutic Riding and Grooming Programs offer personalized sessions with qualified instructors geared to individual need. Our services also include a Life Skills Development program which is targeted toward youth between the ages of 10 and 17 who are experiencing challenges in building healthy relationships, making positive choices and developing a positive self-image. Equine Assisted Therapy is what PARDS is all about. Contributing to the overall well-being of our community by supporting those individuals who experience challenges in engaging in physical activity, developing social skills and finding a place they feel they truly belong is what we are committed to each and every day. Therapeutic riding offers a variety of benefits to those that engage in the activity that are as diverse as the individuals who use our programs. Ultimately, our programs impact the quality of life for our clients through providing inclusive opportunities for sport, recreation, physical fitness, cognitive development and personal development.
