Chamber Elects and Honours Members at 2020 AGM & Awards presented by Canwest
The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce welcomed back its Executive and elected five Members to the Board of Directors at the Chamber’s 2020 Annual General Meeting and Awards presented by Canwest Group Benefits Consultants.
Re-assuming the role of Chair is Larry Gibson who was successfully re-elected by the members in attendance. Re-acclaimed from nominations were Tertius Genis as First Vice-Chair and Cindy Park as Second Vice-Chair. Dan Wong will remain on the Executive as Past Chair.
Three spots on the Board, left vacant by retiring Directors, have been filled by the following Chamber Members:
- Jason Petrone
- Lori Pollock
- Barry Yaehne
The remaining positions went to returning Directors Ken Loudon and Cord Spero who were successful in seeking their second terms on the Board.
Those elected will join existing Directors: Jon Anderson, Lisa Hall, Pamela Nordin and Karci Wallan on the 2021 Chamber of Commerce Board.
The Chamber would also like to recognize and thank retiring Board Members: Becky Bozarth, Brooks Hoffos, and Shelly Sorensen; and thank all those who allowed their names to stand for election.
Another highlight of the virtual event was the presentation of the annual Chamber Member Awards. This year’s recipients are:
• Clem E. Collins Award (Chamber Volunteer) – Shawna Miller
• Business Citizen of the Year – Wendy Bosch
• Dan H. Minchin Award (Long-Term Member Business Achievement) – Community Futures Grande Prairie & Region
• Above and Beyond Award – Bill Given
